Focus your Energy

focus your energy

Break down areas of interest into small parts.  It is easier to focus on a small area than to spread yourself too thin.  Some people believe they will accomplish more by multitasking than focusing their energy into one area, but it has been proven that you achieve much more by concentrating on one project at a time.  If you direct your energy into one area you will accomplish more in less time than you could by splitting up your focus into 10 different directions.
Take any task you need to get accomplish and split it up into manageable portions.  For example if your Saturday chore is to clean the garage and it seems too overwhelming to even start, break it up. If  cleaning the entire garage is too much than set a goal to clean one shelf a day.  Take one shelf, one corner, one box at a time.  Divide it into as many parts as needed.  You can divide it up too much.  It should only be divided into manageable portions, between 2 to 10 parts.  Then write down the order in which you are going to tackle the job and dive in.  Focus on one section at a time until it is completed and then move to the next section and before you know it the job is done.
